WHAT FORM OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
Cash, check, credit/debit card and PayPal. There is a standard fee of $45.00 for a returned check.
CAN YOU ACCEPT CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS IN PERSON OR OUTSIDE OF YOUR WEBSITE?
Yes, I can accept credit/debit cards using the Square. I prefer to either swipe your card in person so that you can sign for the purchase or to send your email address an invoice that you can pay with your credit/debit card.
HOW DO YOU DETERMINE WHICH SPORTING EVENTS AND GAMES YOU WILL PHOTOGRAPH?
Photography by Char gives priority to schools and teams who hire Photography by Char for their Team & Individual Team Portraits; those schools and teams where there is an abundance of Memory Pages or other prints ordered by parents, athletes and coaches; those games covered for a local newspaper and upon request for yearbooks.
WHAT DO YOU CHARGE TO PHOTOGRAPH A SCHOOL, LEAGUE OR TEAM'S TEAM & INDIVIDUAL PORTRAITS?
I don't charge a school, league or team to come to their home field or court and take their Team & Individual Portraits. I rely on the sale of my Portraits for compensation. UPDATE: December 30, 2014: I have started creating composite posters for teams and schools. I do charge a session fee to come in and take the necessary team images needed for the composites and to create the composites. Please contact me for further details.
WHAT DO YOU CHARGE TO COVER SPORTING EVENTS OR OTHER EVENTS?
I usually do not charge anything for most events (primarily k-12 level events). For College Events or large Family Reunions, I charge approximately $50.00 per hour. Please contact me to discuss this further and determine whether your event is something I could cover and how much it will cost.
DO YOU PRINT YOUR OWN PRINTS?
No, I order all my prints from a professional printing company.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE YOUR PICTURES OR RECEIVE PRINTS ORDERED?
Game and Event Pictures are usually available on this website with in 24 hours to 5 days and a link is usually posted to Facebook along with some highlights. However, I realize 24 hours to 5 days is quite a span... it really depends on how busy I am with team and events especially when seasons overlap not to mention including senior and family sessions and most important some family and personal time. In the meantime, I would like to thank you in advance for your patience.
Orders from Team & Individual Portrait Sessions are usually dropped off to the school or coach within 2 1/2 weeks from the date of the session. The team portrait is usually posted on Facebook within 1 week from the date of the session.
Online Galleries for Senior & Portrait Sessions are usually ready no later than 2 weeks from the date of the session with Sneak Peeks posted on Facebook per contract guidelines.
HOW DO I ORDER PRINTS FROM YOUR WEBSITE?
When you find an image that you would like to order a print of, click the green "Buy" button. Select "This Photo" and you will be taken to a screen where you can select the size print you would like to purchase. Once you have added that print to your cart, you can then Continue Shopping.
I CANNOT ADD ANYTHING TO MY SHOPPING CART OR MY SHOPPING CART IS LOOSING WHAT I ADD TO IT...
Make sure you have your web browser set to allow cookies and third party cookies in order to successfully use the shopping cart on my website. It also helps if you clear your browsing cache on your web browser. This includes the web browser on your mobile devices and smart phones. HOW DO I ORDER A DISC FROM YOUR WEBSITE?
There is an option to order Downloads on the website. Once you have purchased and downloaded the images, you can then put them on a disc or flash drive with your own computer.
HOW DO I ORDER DOWNLOADABLE FILES?
When you click the green "Buy" button and then click "This Photo" you will be taken to your shopping cart. You will find a "Download" tab across the top of your shopping cart. Click the "Download" tab and follow the instructions.
I DIDN'T RECEIVE THE DOWNLOAD FILES THAT I PURCHASED.
Make sure to follow the instructions when you purchase downloads from the website. If something happens that you do not wait for the link when you make the purchase, you will receive the link in your emailed receipt of purchase from my website. When looking in your email... please make sure to check your SPAM folder.
IS THERE A GUARANTEE OF PRINT QUALITY OF DOWNLOADED FILES OR FILES I RECEIVE FROM YOU ON A DISC?
No, Photography by Char cannot guarantee the print quality of downloaded files or files received on a disc when the images are printed by any other printing company or store other than Photography by Char's printing company.
DO I NEED A PRINT RELEASE FOR DOWNLOADED FILES?
You shouldn't need an actual print release from Photography by Char. Your receipt of purchase should work. However, when requested, I will gladly email you a print release for those files you purchased.
WHERE IS THE GREEN "BUY" BUTTON?
You can find the GREEN "BUY PHOTOS" Button on almost all devices including phones. Sometimes you have to click on the picture you are looking at to see the button. It may show up towards the top of your screen or the bottom of your screen. However, not all of the shopping cart features are available on all devices. Some people find using a computer the easiest.
I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER OR INTERNET. IS THERE A WAY THAT I CAN STILL ORDER PICTURES?
Yes, contact Char with the Contact Form on this website, email to PhotographybyChar@gmail.com, message on Facebook or a phone call with the game and date the pictures are from and then the file names (starts with DSC_) or the number the pictures are in the gallery (1/200 or 136/342). I will contact you to verify what you would like to order.
WILL THAT BIG WATERMARK BE ON THE PRINTS THAT I ORDER?
No, that watermark is only on the image while displayed on the website and social media. Instead most prints and downloadable files will contain a small printmark in the lower right hand corner of the image. When placing a print order you can preview the image with the printmark prior to making your purchase by clicking on "iPrintmarked" located underneath each image in your shopping cart. If you have an issue with the printmark, please contact me prior to making your print purchase.
WHAT IS A MEMORY PAGE?
A Memory Page is a 12" x 12" print that contains 1 large photo and 3 small photos along with your athlete or student's name and jersey number, mascott or name of school, league or organization, and sometimes game or event information or championship or accomplishment information. Memory Pages are customized/personalized and perfect prints for scrapbooks and framing.
HOW DO I ORDER A MEMORY PAGE?
Memory Pages are special order prints. You will need to contact Char by using the Contact Form, send an email (PhotographybyChar@gmail.com), send Char a message on Facebook (www.facebook.com/PhotographyByChar) or call (517) 756-8406. Information that I will need is the Name & Jersey Number of your athlete; School name, mascot and colors; and the Sport.
CAN I SELECT THE PICTURES I WANT INCLUDED ON A MEMORY PAGE?
Yes, include in your order the Sport & Game you have selected images from. You can then include a list of the file names (located under an image). File names start with DSC_ and are followed by a series of numbers. If you cannot see the file names, include in your order the Sport, Game and Game date along with the order numbers of the images (1/479 or 66/352).
THERE ARE SO MANY PICTURES, HOW DO I CHOOSE WHICH PICTURES TO USE?
You do not have to chose the pictures, I can select the pictures used for your Memory Page.
DO I GET TO SEE THE MEMORY PAGE BEFORE THE PRINT IS ORDERED?
Yes. I will send you a watermarked picture of your Memory Page to you via email or Facebook for you to check and give me an okay to order. It is very important that you check all spelling and information for any necessary changes or corrections. If needed, we will make changes and corrections to your Memory Page and another picture of the Memory Page will be sent to you to check again and give the final okay to print.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE THE MEMORY PAGES ONCE THE PRINTS ARE ORDERED?
Usually once we finalize a Memory Page and I order it, I can have it to you with in 1-2 weeks depending on arrangements made for payment. All Memory Pages have to be paid for prior to receiving them or at the time of delivery. I can mail the Memory Page to you once I receive it from the printing company for an additional $5.00.
HOW DO I PAY FOR A MEMORY PAGE?

DO YOU OFFER ANYTHING BIGGER THAN A 12" X 12" MEMORY PAGE?
Yes, I can also make a 16" x 20" Memory Poster with 1 large image and 4 to 5 smaller images. These run $50.00 each and can be customized/personalized just like the Memory Pages. For more information, please contact me.
HOW DO I ORDER TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL TEAM PICTURES AFTER THE DAY OF PICTURES?
Contact Char and ask if your athlete had an individual picture taken. Even though Photography by Char stresses the importance of everyone on the team having an individual portrait taken, Char cannot force them to have their picture taken. Once we determine if your athlete had their picture taken, we can continue with ordering Team & Individual pictures.
WHAT IF MY TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL TEAM PICTURE IS INCORRECT?
Please check your orders as soon as you receive them to make sure all names are spelled correctly and your order is complete. Names are spelled according to the way it is spelled on the order form. I do my best to double check orders and spelling before ordering prints but once in a while I do miss something. Once the error has been determined your order will be fixed and reprinted (if needed) at no cost to you.
